Last Man Standing Game

The theme behind this dream was that it was a game of sorts. There was an
undetermined amount of players, and each player had a special ability. The
winner of the game was the last person alive I think. Anyone that died in
the game just kind of exited it. No one would actually stay dead in the
"real world". In this game I had the ability to heal quickly, which would
certainly come in handy later.

There were a lot of places to go in this dream. I can’t remember much of
the beginning of the dream or the area I was at. There were apparently
several "keys" scattered around the world (the game world). Collecting all
of the keys would bring the player who had them a lot of power and maybe
sure victory. I of course started searching for these keys right away. At
some point I think I had a few of them but some powerful enemy somehow
took them from me. I guess he didn’t see me as much of a threat, so
instead of killing me and removing me from the game he just dumped me on
the beach of some large lake and went off to get the rest of the keys.

I was kind of bummed out about my loss and didn’t feel like playing
anymore. Eventually though I convinced myself to continue on again. I had
a machine gun type weapon now and I got up and decided to head towards a
large hotel nearby. 

The end of the game was now on. All the players in the game were now
converging on this location. Before I reached the hotel however I came
across a very attractive young gothic type woman. After some small talk we
decided to team up.

Once inside the hotel I started battling some of the players. It was a
very hostile area with everyone going after each other. I started getting
good at picking off players and taking them off guard. I was racking up a
lot of victories. The girl I was teamed up with never seemed to do anything
and she wasn’t always around all the time. I had no idea where she was and
what she was doing half the time. I did get injured a few times though. I
think I was shot and took a few hits, but the healing kept me going strong.
I was actually starting to think I might be able to win this game at the
pace I was going at. I had a rough start (losing my keys and my dignity!)
but now I was doing good.

I came across a hallway. At the end of the hallway there was a large guy
and he was strangling another guy. I got into position and opened fire at
the big one. It was a clear easy shot. None of my shots however seemed to
affect him at all. He finished off the smaller guy and then turned to look
at me. I fired again and again but nothing worked on this guy. He seemed to
be invincible. If invincibility was this guys special ability then it
seemed very unfair! When he started coming towards me I took off running
down another hallway. I finally rejoined the girl (she had vanished, again)
and we both were running to get away. She told me that this guy had some
kind of invisible flame circling around him that prevented him from being
harmed. The guy had a gun I think but he seemed to only use grenades, which
he would toss towards me on occasion. At this point I think we were the
last three people left in the game. I needed to figure out how to beat this
guy.

The guy seemed to be fixed on me. He ignored trying to harm the girl and
she never really did anything of use to help me or hinder him. Eventually
I was forced to leap out a window (that was several floors up) in order to
avoid a grenade blast. I fell several floors and landed hard on the cement
below. I was very injured but this quick healing of mine kept me alive at
least. I wasn’t able to move much now though. I was a sitting duck.

The guy showed up at the window and with a smirk of victory on his face he
started throwing down grenades at me. Over and over I managed to quickly
grab and toss the grenades just out of range from me. I couldn’t keep this
up for long though. The girl finally showed up at the window beside him.
He hardly seemed to notice her as usual. No one in the game ever went after
her, maybe because they didn’t think she could do anything since she never
did do anything.

This next part is sketchy, but she led him away from the window and that is
the last I saw of him. After a short while she showed up down where I was.
She had blood splattered all over her but none of it was her own. Who knows
what she did to him but it was surely a horrible sight. She was licking up
some of the blood and seemed to be enjoying her accomplishment. Fortunately
for me she honored our alliance and didn’t attack me. I eventually got to
my feet and the game was over. We were co-winners. Thus ends the dream.

I don’t know what happened with the keys. I don’t know if anyone collected
them all. Maybe the invincible guy had them. Or maybe the girl did and was
hiding the fact. Or no one found them all. Who knows.
