Forgotten Dungeons
- Version 1.00
Forgotten Dungeons
Page Last Updated: February 23rd, 2008

This game is the predecessor to my game Dungeon Crusade. It is a simple game with textual graphics and large empty rooms. Your character travels through many many (up to 40 I think) pitch black floors of a dungeon on a quest to find a missing person and to stop the evil that lurks there. You travel by candlelight as you fight monsters, collect items, and travel deeper and deeper into the unknown. There are some similarities with the Diablo series as is evident with the way the item system works and some of the monster spawns.

Version 1.00: Download
Version 1.00 by Steven C. Brown. Compiled on April 24th, 2001.

Features:
- Up to 40 random floors of battling monsters and finding items.
- A wide variety of weapons, armors, shields and mods for those items.
- A wide variety of monsters as well as dangerous Champion and Enchanted forms of each.
- Simplistic play: Move your character and choose between a few simple options during map movement and combat.
- Three different skill levels.

Notes:
- Sometimes the candlelight radius expands suddenly (and permanently) making it easier for the player (a good bug!).
- Also, the candlelight radius as shown on the screen by the dots is inaccurate. It is actually 1 square shorter in all directions.
- Be sure to pay attention to what number you type in when selecting options. The wrong number could cause you to lose valuable items.
- The nightmare difficulty seems to start out pretty easy for the first several floors but once you come across those high defense rated monsters you'll understand why it's called nightmare!
